As I write today, I am taking a break from packing for our week of KOA training in Myrtle Beach, SC.
My shoulder is on the mend, still in a sling until Feb. 11th, but I'm thankfully off the pain meds for now. The easiest way to 'describe' what a shoulder replacement feels like is "like someone took a hatchet and tried to chop off my arm". Still have a lot of swelling, but the doc doubled my anti-inflammatory meds, so I'm hoping that once therapy starts that will go away.
Getting through the metal detectors at the airport in the morning could prove to be even more interesting, with yet another piece of metal inside of me!
A beautiful day here in Oklahoma and I have to admit to being a bit 'itchy' to hit the road for yet another season. Guess it is just in our blood. Have to get through some physical therapy before the doctor releases me to head out, but we are all confident that things will go well.
One of the 'bugs' caught up with Roger late last week and he has been a bit under the weather with a cough and congestion. He seems to be some better today, which is good, since we leave in the morning.
We were surprised a bit last week when our Amish-made furniture arrived a bit earlier than expected! It is everything we thought it would be and we 'christened' it with a dinner of chicken and dumplings with Randy & his family. The only room left to 'furnish' is the guest room, and we've decided to let that wait until we return in the fall. We start every morning in our 'formal dining room' where we can spread out the morning papers. Most evenings we eat our supper in the living room on our 'game table' where we can catch whatever TV show is on. Hunter was the first to 'break in' the bar stools, as she climbed up to do her homework the very afternoon they arrived.
Once we get all the 'clutter' stowed away, and the new fifth wheel loaded for the season, I will snap some pictures to share. Still have a curtain or two to get up, as well as the pictures and wall decor, but I'm beginning to think that decorating a new home is like building a campground . . . one is never quite 'finished'.
